What is a content strategy?

A content strategy is a roadmap for your content creation. It tells you about your target audience and their interests, and what tone and style to use in your communication with them for the best results. Amongst other things, it includes keyword research and competition research, so that you know what terms to focus on to stand out from your competition and to reach your audience. What does a content strategist do?

Content strategist do the work needed to create the strategy. They compile the research and shape it into a strategy that works for your business. A content strategy should have both the roadmap and the background information that led to the choices made to form the strategy, because understanding those choices will help you in the long term.

Why hire a freelance content strategist?

Your business content, whether that is on- or offline sets the tone for your business. It is often a client’s first impression of your business, so you want all your content to align. A content strategy helps you to do this.
