What is copywriting?
Copywriting aims to influence, persuade or sell something to its reader. It can be anything, a product or a service, an event or an experience. For a website, copywriting can improve its click-through rate as it leads visitors to actually move from being website visitors to becoming business clients.
What does a copywriter do?
Copywriters write all sorts of texts, including landing pages, product pages, category pages, brochures, marketing e-mails, advertorials, and social media captions. Most copywriting will include a call-to-action, a simple next step to move the reader into action.
For copywriting it is important to know your audience, as different audiences have different triggers that will convince them to take action. For example, there is a big difference between writing for a business (B2B) or for a consumer (B2C). But as long as the copywriter knows who they are writing for, they should be able to adjust their writing accordingly.
Why hire a freelance copywriter instead of using AI?
Striking the right tone-of-voice in copywriting is very important, and it is based on empathy with the audience. It is a human emotion, something generative AI cannot replicate.
